Do I need experience before trying a class?
No. Every membership starts with a free trial and you do not need any gear to begin. Beginners are welcome in every program.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing. No shoes on the mat. If you continue in Jiu-Jitsu you will add a gi later; we will guide you.
What happens at a first class?
You will be welcomed, introduced to your instructor, warmed up, and walked through basics and partner drills at your own pace.
What ages do you teach?
Ages 3 to 65 and up — from Little Ninjas through Active Fit 55+.
Do you have programs for people with Parkinson's?
Yes. Rise and Strike Boxing is Flow Academy's own non-contact, boxing-based fitness program for people with Parkinson's, led by coaches trained for this class.
Is Rise and Strike Boxing like other Parkinson's boxing programs?
Yes. Rise and Strike Boxing is Flow Academy's own non-contact, boxing-based fitness program for people with Parkinson's, built around the same ideas: big movements, footwork, balance and voice work, and plenty of encouragement. It is led by coaches trained for this class. If you have been looking for a Parkinson's boxing class in Riverside, Rise and Strike is our program — come try a class.
My child learns differently — is there a place for them?
Yes. Flow Limitless is our adaptive martial arts program with small groups and patient coaching at an individual pace.
Can I use charter school funds at Flow Academy?
Yes. Flow Academy is an approved charter school enrichment vendor in Riverside, CA, so charter and homeschool families can put PE and enrichment funds toward Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, youth wrestling, and adaptive martial arts. Which charter schools is Flow Academy a vendor for?
Flow Academy Riverside is an approved enrichment vendor with Mission Vista Academy, Excel Academy, and Elite Academic Academy. If your student attends a different charter or homeschool program, ask us — new vendor approvals are often just a form away.
