A message from Professor Zaide
Why do I teach Jiu-Jitsu to women? Because I've seen firsthand how much it can change their lives.
I train Jiu-Jitsu because I believe every woman deserves to feel strong, confident, and capable of protecting herself. For me, it's so much more than self-defense. It's about pushing past my limits, building mental strength, and reminding myself that I'm capable of more than I think. As women, we spend so much time taking care of everyone else, and Jiu-Jitsu is something I do for ME. It empowers me both on and off the mats.
Every challenge on the mats strengthened my mindset, my discipline, and my purpose. Today, my focus is bigger than personal progress. It's about creating a space where women and girls feel safe, supported, empowered, and part of a community that genuinely cares about them, a place where they can rise, lead, and believe in their own strength.
I'll never forget the kind of words that make coaching so rewarding:
“I came here wanting to learn how to protect myself, but I never expected to find my confidence, my strength, and a whole new family.”
That's why I do what I do. Watching women walk in unsure of themselves and slowly become stronger, more confident, and supportive of one another is something truly special. We aren't just building stronger women on the mats. We're building friendships, confidence, and a community that carries beyond them.
I train to grow myself, but I lead to empower the women coming behind me.
