A New Room Is a Big Change for Some Kids. Here’s How We’d Get Ready.
October 8, 2026
It’s the second week of October, and a question has been coming in by phone and text: “My child doesn’t do well with change. How do I get them ready for a new building?” We’re glad families are asking early. We’ve been asking ourselves the same thing.
Our Riverside academy is closed for remodel until Sunday, November 1, 2026, and there are no Riverside classes before then. Our new home opens that day at 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2. That leaves a little over three weeks, and here’s how we’d spend them.
Talk About It in Small Doses
Tell your child plainly what’s happening: the old room is closed, a new room is opening, and Flow Limitless is still Flow Limitless. Several short conversations tend to go better than one long one. Some children like the date on a calendar where they can see it. Others want to hear it once and then not hear about it again. You know which one yours is.
Hold On to the Part That Won’t Change
We’ve written before about why class runs in the same order every week. That order is what we plan to carry into the new space. New floors and new walls are plenty to take in, so the shape of class should feel like something your child already knows. At home, you can talk through whatever rhythm they remember from class, such as how it starts and how it ends, so it’s waiting for them when the doors open.
Ask Us the Small Questions
If your child would feel better knowing one specific thing, ask us. Where do shoes go? Where can a parent sit? What does the entrance look like? Call or text, and we’ll tell you what we know. If we don’t know yet, we’ll say that too, rather than guess. A child can usually tell when an answer has been made up.
Plan the First Day, Not Just the Building
Decide together who’s bringing your child, what time you’ll leave, and what happens if the first few minutes feel like too much. Standing at the edge of the mat for a while is a normal way to start. Having that plan said out loud before the day arrives can take a lot of pressure off everyone, parents included.
What We Can’t Tell You Yet
We haven’t confirmed the Flow Limitless class days and times at the new space, so we won’t print any here. Call or text for the schedule. Flow Limitless is for kids and teens ages 6–17, and this is instruction, not therapy. Families who work with doctors or specialists should keep those conversations with them.
A child with a disability is always welcome in our standard kids and youth classes at the standard price, with reasonable accommodations at no extra charge.
Our new Riverside home opens November 1, 2026 at 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2. Call or text (951) 337-3781. Once we reopen, your child’s first class is free.
