What Parents Do During a Flow Limitless Class
October 15, 2026
Here’s a question that lands on our front desk almost every week: “What do I actually do while my child is in class?” With Riverside families planning ahead while we move, it’s coming in by phone and text more than ever. So let’s answer it for Flow Limitless, our adaptive martial arts class for kids and teens ages 6–17 who learn, move, and process differently.
First, the plain facts. Flow Limitless is coming to Riverside, and you can join the waitlist. Classes are paused during our move; we will share the opening date as soon as it is set. There are no Riverside classes right now, so nothing below is something to try this week. If you’d rather not wait, our Indio academy is running classes as usual.
Where Parents Sit
Our plan is a spot for parents at the edge of the mat, in view of the whole room. A child can glance over and see a familiar face without anyone calling attention to it. Some kids check in every few minutes. Others never look up once class starts. Either one is fine, and Coach Zaide and our other coaches will follow your child’s lead.
Staying Close, and When Stepping Back Helps
Some days a child wants you right there. Other days they’d like to do it on their own. If your child is steadier with you nearby for the first few weeks, stay nearby. Nobody is keeping score.
When your child seems settled, a coach may ask if you want to try a few minutes in the waiting area. You’re free to say “not yet.” You know your child better than we do, and we’d rather hear from you than guess.
What Helps While You Watch
- Let the coach do the talking, so your child hears one voice at a time.
- Save the big reactions for after the drill, when your child can look at you.
- Put your phone on silent, and keep other siblings’ noise to a minimum if you can.
- If your child needs a break, give the coach a moment to step in before you do.
The Two Minutes at Pickup
When class ends, we’ll take a minute with you. We’ll tell you what we practiced, what seemed to land, and what we might try differently next time. We also want to hear from you. Was it a rough morning? Did something at school come up? A quick swap of notes helps us plan the next class.
Flow Limitless is martial arts instruction. Questions about your child’s health, learning plans, or care belong with the professionals who already work with your family, and we’re glad to talk with you about what we do on the mat so you can bring it to them.
A child with a disability is always welcome in our standard kids and youth classes at the standard price, with reasonable accommodations at no extra charge.
Classes are paused during our move to 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2; we will share the opening date as soon as it is set. Call or text (951) 337-3781 to join the Flow Limitless waitlist for Riverside.
