Homeschool Siblings Can Train in One Afternoon, Not Three
October 20, 2026
Here’s a question that comes into our front desk by phone and text more as fall settles in: “I have a little one, a middle kid and a preteen at home all day. Do I really need three separate trips?” For a lot of Riverside homeschool families, the answer is no, and it’s worth laying out why.
First, the plain facts. It’s late October. Classes are paused during our move to 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2; we will share the opening date as soon as it is set. There are no Riverside classes right now, so think of everything below as the schedule you can plan around, not something to show up for this week.
One Afternoon Block, Every Age
Our Monday and Wednesday schedule stacks the kids’ classes close together, then hands off to the grown-ups:
- Little Ninjas, ages 3–6: 3:45 PM or 4:30 PM
- Kids Jiu-Jitsu, ages 7–9: 4:30 PM
- Youth BJJ, ages 10–14: 5:30 PM
- Adult BJJ: 6:30 PM
Picture a five-year-old and an eight-year-old who both start at 4:30, a twelve-year-old at 5:30, and a parent who’s been curious about jiu-jitsu for years stepping on at 6:30. One drive in, one afternoon, and every age is covered. Professor Carlos Miller and Professor Zaide lead the jiu-jitsu mats, and each child works toward rank at their own pace, so a younger sibling is never measured against an older one.
The Tuesday and Thursday Kid
Some kids would rather wrestle than wear a gi. Youth NoGi/Wrestling meets Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM for ages 6 and up, with Coach Benjamin Frietze. If one of your children leans that way, it sits neatly beside a Monday and Wednesday jiu-jitsu schedule for a sibling.
Each Child Gets Their Own Funding Conversation
Flow Academy BJJ Riverside is an approved enrichment vendor with Mission Vista Academy, Excel Academy and Elite Academic Academy. If your charter isn’t on that list, other charters can request vendor approval. What your school will fund, and how, is something only your Education Specialist can confirm.
With several kids, bring the schedule above to that conversation and ask how requests work for more than one child: whether each child needs a separate request, and what each one has to say. We’d rather you hear it from your school than from our guess. Our charter schools page lays out the approved vendor details, and it’s a good place to start before you call.
What to Do This Week
Sort out the paperwork now so you’re ready when we are. Write down which of your kids fit which class, check the ages against the schedule, and send your Education Specialist the questions. When classes resume, the first class is free for every child.
Classes are paused during our move to 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2; we will share the opening date as soon as it is set. Call or text (951) 337-3781 and we’ll help you map your family’s schedule. If waiting isn’t an option, our Indio academy is running classes as usual.
