Do the Charter Paperwork in October, Start the Week We Reopen
October 6, 2026
Here’s a question we expect to hear a lot this month: “If you’re closed until November, why am I filling out forms now?” Fair question. Our answer is that October is the quiet month for paperwork, and November 1 is the date we reopen.
Our Riverside academy is closed for remodel until Sunday, November 1, 2026. Our new home is 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2. There are no Riverside classes between now and then. But if your child’s enrichment funds run through a charter school, the slowest part of starting is rarely the first class. It’s the approvals that come before it.
Start With the One Person Who Knows Your Funds
Flow Academy BJJ Riverside is an approved enrichment vendor with Mission Vista Academy, Excel Academy and Elite Academic Academy. Every charter handles requests its own way, and we won’t pretend to know your school’s rules better than your Education Specialist does. How much is available, what it can cover and what the school needs from you are all questions for them. So that’s step one: send them a short message this week.
If Your Charter Isn’t on Our List
Other charters can request vendor approval. That request takes time on the school’s side, and none of us control how long. Starting it in October rather than after a gym reopens is the single easiest way to avoid a gap. Ask your Education Specialist whether they handle vendor requests and what they need from a family to begin one, then call us and tell us which school it is.
What to Settle Before Opening Day
Three things are worth settling before opening day. Which program fits your child’s age: Little Ninjas, Kids Jiu-Jitsu, Youth BJJ or Youth No-Gi/Wrestling. Whether your charter is already an approved vendor relationship or needs a request. And any questions your Education Specialist has for us, which you can pass along and we’ll answer.
The class schedule at the new space gets confirmed when you call, so we’d rather not guess at times in writing. Our coaches, including Professor Carlos Miller and Professor Zaide, will be on the mats when we reopen, and the first class is free.
Why Bother Now
Because the week we reopen, a lot of families will want to start at once. A child whose paperwork is already moving can walk in on opening week instead of waiting through another round of forms. And for homeschool kids who’ve been waiting for a real peer group, a few weeks matters.
See our charter schools page for the approved vendor details. Our new Riverside home opens November 1, 2026 at 10081 Indiana Ave, Suite A-2. Call or text (951) 337-3781 and we’ll walk through it with you. If you can’t wait until November, our Indio academy is running classes now, and we’re happy to point you there.
